Many SAF officers approached us because they are getting their new house but don’t know where to display their SAF Ceremonial Sword?
Many IDs with SAF officers as clients are also puzzled, with the wrong mindset that sword is an inauspicious item and should not be displayed in the house; they will ask the homeowner to keep in the cupboard or leave it at their parent’s home. Please don’t put under your bed.
SAF Ceremonial Sword represents, authority, honour, dignity in serving our nation and defending Singapore. It describes the tremendous responsibilities and standard of the bearer. The bearer of the sword vow to adhere to the code of conduct a military officer must have.
Ten different religious leaders had blessed the officers during their commissioning parade and the sword is part of their uniform and hence it is an auspicious Feng Shui Item provided it is displayed at the right place.
May I suggest that before displaying the sword, have it frame up by a professional frame maker. Don’t be cheap on your Sword, get a good frame maker. Decide you like it horizontal or vertically displayed and chose a red or blue velvet and we are all set to go.
You may display the sword in the Northwest, West or North of the room. Good luck and may the force be with you.
Quote of the day:
The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp.-Terry Pratchett-
